Exterior description and setting

Three pairs of semi-detached two-storey flat-roofed houses in Modern Movement style, with white wet dash rendered walls and chimneys. Oversailing flat roofs with wooden fascias and asphalt covering. All windows are modern replacements, of hardwood, mainly with toplights and fixed lights, not to original pattern. Later porches added to nos. 132 and 134, the latter with hipped tiled roof.

Setting: the buildings stand facing the main road which skirts a housing estate, set back from the road with gardens in front. Boundary walls to front with dry dash render.

Designed by John Scott, architect of Belfast, and built in 1945 for Larne Borough Council; contractors, D.R. Martin & Sons Ltd.

This is a group of houses in Modern Movement style of mid-20th century date, which still retain their flat roofs but alterations to windows and later additions have been detrimental to their appearance. They are not of special architectural or historic interest.
