The Department's description
Exterior description and setting
A terrace of five three-storey houses in Gothic Revival style, each with a two-storey canted bay to the left of the entrance, and the first (no. 27) with its entrance bay set back and carried up an extra storey as a battlemented tower to form the main feature of interest of the terrace. Roofs originally of Bangor blue slates in regular courses but newly replaced with fibre cement at nos. 29 and 31; chimneys originally smooth rendered but one rebuilt in brick (at no. 35) and one removed (at no. 27), and all with modern pots; walls of dry dash render using limestone chippings, inappropriate replacement finish, with dressings of painted stucco; windows new replacements, fixed lights with top hung vents, instead of timber sliding sashes.
The terrace stands facing the main road overlooking reclaimed land of the harbour area.

Evaluation
A terrace of Victorian houses of handsome proportions in an unusual style but which has suffered severe loss of character due to insensitive alterations and inappropriate replacements.
