The Department's description

Single arch road bridge of possible pre 1832 construction in (largely) squared basalt rubble, carrying the Deer Park Road over the Glenarm River. The bridge is located roughly 5 miles S of Glenarm.

The bridge has a single arch with semicircular head and rough voussoirs. The intrados is rendered and rises from a concrete base. The E face is largely obscured by thick tree growth, but appears to have a battered abutment to either side of the arch. To the W face there is a rendered battered abutment to the S side of the arch with an abutment to the N side incorporated into the bank of the river. Metal tie rods have been inserted into the structure. There are low parapets with concrete coping. To the S the W parapet continues as a low wall running along a farm laneway.

A bridge is shown on this site on the OS map of 1832 and all others thereafter. It is possible that much of the structure we see today is pre 1832, but with all structures such this, some rebuilding may have taken place.
