The Department's description

Small long cottage, apparently single storey but with two windows in north east gable and a single roof light revealing an attic floor. Lean-to shed against north east gable and a plaque off centre with 1857 inscribed. The building is located hard up against Church Road on the boundary of the Presbyterian church yard. It has been pebble dashed in the last twenty years and all the windows are of a similar date. Concrete cills have been put under the windows, the slate roof also appears to be a renovation as the barge board and PVC guttering are new. The south western end of the building has much larger windows and a wide door with padlock on the gable.

A building of exactly the same size is shown on 1830 Ordnance Survey Map. It was likely that it was demolished and rebuilt in 1857.

With the exception of the coach house wing the building is still being used for the purpose for which it was built.

Not listed

Not listed

A small house, possibly vernacular in origin with a coach house associated historically with the listed church next door. However, it has been insensitively renovated and does not now stand as a good example of the type.
