Exterior description and setting
(The description below was recorded in June 1997 prior to alterations being carried out by the owner.)
Storey and a half whitewashed stone Vernacular house with porch and slated roof on level ground parallel to Kilgort Road but separated from it by a row of trees and a yard. Painted corrugated iron pitched roof to porch. Sheeted door, six pane sliding sash window to either side of door and a small sheeted door high up under eaves to left of porch. Single storey whitewashed stone barns adjoining, with steeply pitched corrugated iron roof, all to the left of the building. The house faces south east. To the north east gable is a small window with four panes lighting the upper floor. To the rear is a single nine pane sashed window into the main living room and a high level opening to the floor above.
Historical information
Building marked on 1831 map as part of a collection of buildings or ‘claghan’ at Meeny. Occupant until recently was the late Mr John Kerlin.
Property changed from original Survey of Nov 1997 in 1998/99.

Evaluation
Good example of a direct entry cottage with barn above, which was well maintained and little altered in its original setting.
Its character has however been irretrievably lost in a conversion and modernisation scheme carried out by the owner in 1998/1999.
