The National Monuments Service's description
Located on a slight W-facing slope. The cropmark of a subrectangular area (dims. c. 65m x c. 65m) defined by a single fosse feature is visible on aerial photograph (CUCAP, AYK 15). It is also visible on aerial photographs (MM (30) 18-20; ASIAP (8) 20-23) where an entrance gap at E is visible. In addttion it is visible on the OSI series of aerial photographs (2000). Nothing can be discerned at ground level in a cereal crop. Rath (WX047-159----) is c. 120m to the WSW. Archaeological testing (04E0497) on the site of new farm buildings 30-100m to the NW produced evidence of ditches or gullies (Wth c. 0.55-1.6m) which are likely to be related to post-medieval field boundaries (McLoughlin 2004, 2007).
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
