The National Monuments Service's description
Inside the church of Tintern (WX045-029001-) at the E end are three worn memorials on the ground. That at the NE angle has the date 1683 but is otherwise illegible. It has been recorded by B. Cantwell (1974-84, vol. 8, No. 383, A, No. 3) as: Here lyeth/ ye body of Capt John Colclough/ …. Deceas/ed ye 26th February/ 1683 aged 64 years.
