The National Monuments Service's description

A wall monument of Kilkenny limestone is built onto the inner face of the S wall of Tintern church (WX045-02900-1). It consists of a limestone disc (diam. c. 0.65m) high on the wall that once held an attached crest (C. D. 1895-7), while below it is a limestone plaque (Wth c. 1m; H c. 0.6m). The incised inscription has a Latin introduction and commemorates Anthony Colclough from Wolstanton, Staffordshire, who acquired the Tintern estate in the 1560s and died in 1584. He had seven sons, and the marriages of four of his five daughters are recorded on the stone.

The inscription has been transcribed from the Latin and English by Hore (1858-9, 457; FitzGerald 1904-06m 168-9) as:
