The National Monuments Service's description

Located on a flat, low-lying landscape c. 500m from the W edge of the South Slob of Wexford harbour. This is an estate chapel of Killiane Castle (WX042-020001-) which is c. 100m to the W. It is a rectangular structure (ext. dims. 7.55m E-W; 5.5m N-S) with the E and W walls surviving partially (max. H 3m) together with the base of the N wall (max. H 1 m), but the S wall is reduced to a collapsed spread of rubble (H 0.6m). A round-arched W doorway (Wth 0.74m; H 1.51m) of uncut stone and a rectangular E window (Wth 0.27m; H 0.7m) of four dressed limestone pieces are the only surviving features. There is no enclosure or any evidence of burial. The site of St Helen's Well (WX042-020002-) c. is 45m to the SW.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
