The National Monuments Service's description

Archaeological testing (15E0339) of an extensive area (dims c. 90-120m NNW-SSE; c. 70-90m ENE-WSW) SE of the rath (WX041-032----) produced evidence of medieval gullies and furrows. At one point a furnace-bottom (dims 0.4 x 0.45m; T ) was identified and excavated (McLoughlin 2015, 10 C21).
