Located towards the bottom of the NE-facing slope of a NE-SW ridge. This is a rectangular area in mixed wood (dims. 27m E-W; 26m N-S) defined by earthen banks (Wth 4m; int. H 1m; ext. H 1.5m) with an external flat-bottomed moat (Wth of base 3-7m; ext. D 1.6m) and an outer bank (Wth c. 3m; ext. H c. 0.5m) on each side. There is an entrance (Wth 1.8m) through the inner bank and a causeway (Wth 4m) towards the W end of the S side. (Barry 1977, 221, WX 68)
