Situated on a gentle S-facing slope. This is site of the parish church of Whitechurchglynn within a D-shaped graveyard (dims. c. 70m NW-SE; c. 65m NE-SW) that is defined by an earthen bank with external stone-facing and hedge that survives S-NW, a masonry wall at N, the extended graveyard NE-SE and a quarry at S. According to a Visitation by Thomas Ram, the Protestant bishop of Ferns, in 1615 Richard Hore was the priest of Whitechurch or Mathurein and while the church was in repair the chancel was in ruins (Hore 1900-11, vol. 6, 270). There are no visible remains of a church apart from a rectangular granite font (ext. dims. 0.58m x 0.51m; visible H 0.26m; int. dims 0.42m x 0.37m; D 0.17m) with a central drain-hole that is cemented on top of a cairn (dims. 1.9m x 1.1m; H 0.75m) of quartz stones. Lady's Well (WX036-019----), a natural spring, lies c. 270m to the SSW. The graveyard was extended to the E (L c. 40m) in 1997.
