The National Monuments Service's description

Marked as a small rectangular feature on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map and as a circular mound (diam. c. 20m) on the 1924 ed. It is situated on a S-facing slope in a field called the ‘Moat Field’ and is described locally as an earthen mound (diam. c. 10m; H c. 1.5m) that was overgrown with scrub and removed c. 1970. It is not visible at ground level in pasture, but the vegetation mark of a double-ditched enclosure (ext. diam. c. 60m) with an entrance through both features at SW is visible on the OSI series of aerial photographs (2000), so the mound was probably a spoil mound.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
