The National Monuments Service's description

Marked on the 1839 and 1925 eds of the OS 6-inch map and described in italic lettering as Tobernashask – Tober seasc? the dry well – on both. It is situated on the W side of rock outcrop at the junction with level land. This is a poorly-drained area with a pump-house. There is no evidence that it was anything other than a common well, of no great antiquity.
