The National Monuments Service's description
Located towards the bottom of a S-facing slope of Camlin Hill, with an E-W section of a SE-NW stream c. 100m to the S. Centre-line testing (E4067) in advance of the N25 New Ross by-pass (Doyle et al. 2010, 32-3) identified a pit-burial (diam. 0.35m). A large oval pit (dims. 3.1m x 2.2m) with a boulder in the fill was just S of the pit-burial, and the boulder was visible on the surface. The pit (diam. 0.35m) with an inverted urn was excavated (E4104) as Camlin 3 when it was block-lifted for conservation (Hackett 2010; Hackett 2013).
