The National Monuments Service's description
Marked as a circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 40-45m) incorporating NW-SE field banks at NE and SW on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. It is situated in a fold towards the bottom of the NW-facing slope of a low NE-SW ridge. This is an overgrown circular area (diam. c. 35m) defined by a slight earthen bank (at E: Wth 2m; int. H 0.3m; max. ext. H 1.4m) N-S-W, and with an external fosse (at N: Wth 2m; D 0.4m) surviving S W N. The entrance and causeway (Wth 3m) are at SW.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
