The National Monuments Service's description

Marked as a subrectangular embanked or moated enclosure (ext. dims. c. 60m N-S; c. 50m E-W) on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on the floor of a broad N-S valley with the headwaters of a N-S stream c. 350m to the E. This is a raised rectangular area (dims. 28m N-S; 20m E-W) defined by a slight bank at N (Wth of base 5.4m; Wth of top 2m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 0.8m) and W (Wth 6.3m; int. H 0.4-0.8m; ext. H 1.3m) and a scarp at S (H 0.8m) and E (H 0.3-0.7m). There is no visible fosse now but traces of one (Wth c. 1.5-2m) were visible in the 1960s except at the E (SMR file). There is an entrance gap (Wth 3m) at NW, and the site is now planted with coniferous tress, which may have altered its shape and the form of the bank.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
