The National Monuments Service's description
A church (WX030-014001-) is marked on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map with an irregular D-shaped enclosure (dims. c. 35m NW-SE; c. 35m NE-SW) attached to the W. It is situated in a slight col between low rises c. 1km to the SW and c. 500m to the N. The enclosure is a slightly raised subcircular area (dims. c. 30m N-S: c. 25m E-W) defined by a slight scarp and truncated by the road at E. There is no evidence of a building or of burial, but the enclosure is visible as a circular cropmark (diam. c. 35-40) defined by a single fosse feature on aerial photographs (ASIAP, WX 101, 19, 20) and the enclosure is undoubtedly a rath.
