The National Monuments Service's description

Archaeological testing (04E1594) just inside the line of the town wall on the E side of the town recovered medieval pottery including Saintonge, Leinster cooking ware and local glazed wares in a cultivation layer and furrows which cut into fire-reddened clays, silts and pits containing further pottery, which were not excavated. (Moran 2007).
