The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a low rise with a small NW-SE stream c. 30m to the NE. The parish church of Killila is within an oval or sub-rectangular raised graveyard (dims. c. 40m E-W; c. 30m N-S) defined by a masonry wall, with a bank (Wth 3m; int. H 0.8m) inside it W-N-E. According to a Visitation by Thomas Ram, the Protestant bishop of Ferns, in 1615 this church was impropriate to Henry Wallop, Garfet McTege was the priest, but the condition of the church building is not recorded (Hore 1900-11, vol. 6, 268, 272). John O'Donovan writing c. 1840 records that an old church existed here (O'Flanagan 1933, vol. 2, 90-91) but there are no visible remains of one at ground level. St Bridget's Well (WX027-04----), a natural spring where a pattern was held on the 1st February until c. 1800, is c. 80m to the N on the other side of the stream.
