The National Monuments Service's description
Marked only on the 1924 ed. of the OS 6-inch map and situated in a low-lying landscape. This is a raised D-shaped area (dims. 43m N-S; 42m E-W; H 1.2m) with the straight W side adjacent to a N-S stream. There are traces of a fosse (Wth 5m; D 0.3m) N-NE. It is now planted with coniferous trees and was at one time planted with deciduous trees. Castle Talbot House, an 18th century mansion, is c. 150m to the W and enclosure (WX027-031----) is c. 110m to the NNE. It may be a landscape feature.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
