The National Monuments Service's description
Marked as an embanked enclosure on the 1839 (ext. diam. c. 75m) and 1924 (ext. diam. c. 65m) eds of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on a slight N-facing slope. It is described in the 1940s as an oval area (dims. c. 38m E-W; c. 31 m N-S) defined by a low earthen bank (max. H 0.3m) and an external fosse that separates it from an outer bank (Wth c. 3-5.5m; H c. 1.5m) with an outer fosse (Wth c. 2.5-3m; max. D 0.5m). There were three entrances, none of which could be identified as original (SMR file). It is evident today as a slightly dished grass-covered area (diam. c. 40m) and a curve in the field bank (C c. 35m) at SW.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
