The National Monuments Service's description

Located on a gentle SW-facing slope. Archaeological testing (E004811) of an area required for the construction phase of the M11 Gorey to Enniscorthy motorway in January 2017 (Whitty and Kavanagh 2017) identified archaeological features (excavations.ie 2017:167) in three areas which were fully excavated (E004857) subsequently as parts of Corbally 6 (excavatioins.ie 2017:314). Area 2 consisted of a single multi-phase kiln. The initial feature was a single oval cut (dims 1.12m x 0.95m; D 0.3m) with yellow to dark brown silty sands. The first re-cut was an oval bowl (dims 0.9m x 0.576m; D 0.22m) with a black, charcoal-rich clay lining and a secondary fill of oxidized brown silty clay. The last manifestation was the largest (dims 1.64m x 1.28m; D 0.56m) with 13 layers rich in charcoal and ash. There were few artefacts. (Whitty & Kavanagh 2018, 13-14)
