The National Monuments Service's description

Identified in centre-line testing (E4110) in advance of the M11 Gorey to Enniscorthy road scheme and set aside for resolution as Moyne Middle 2 (Hardy et al. 2010, 115). It is situated on a NW-facing slope with the headwaters of a small canalised NE-SW stream c. 10-20m to the NW. It was completely excavated (E4207) by Y. Whitty when a fragmented spread of broken and burnt stone (dims 19.5m x 10m; max. T 0.25m) was recorded overlying a timber-lined rectangular trough (dims 1.94m E-W; 1.42m N-S; D 0.25m), which had a small pit (diam. 1m; D 0.2m) adjacent to the NE. A spread of burnt-stone material (dims 14.5m x 6.5m; T 0.28m) extended to the SW of the rectangular trough overlying 8 pits (dims 1.1m x 0.7m; D 0.35m to 1.55m x 1.4m; D 0.45m), but none of the pits could be identified as a trough. A large spread of burnt stone material (dims 11m x 8.5m; T 0.3m) lay c. 13-20m upslope to the SE covering a large pit (dims 5.8m E-W; 1.2m N-S; D 0.34m), and there were two pits (dims 1.34m x 1m; D 0.12m: 1.25m x 1.22m; D 0.35m) c. 7-10m to the ENE of the rectangular trough. Two pieces of flint were recovered. The fulachta fia (WX020-091----; WX020-093----) are c. 35m to the SW and c. 65m to the NE respectively. (Hardy 2012; Whitty 2013)
