The National Monuments Service's description
Located on a slight N-facing slope in a slight col. An area of dark earth and burnt stone (diam. c. 10m) is visible when the area is ploughed. There is a pit in the section of nearby drain (Wth 1.45m; D 0.9m) with a burnt stone fill. It is described locally as a mound (H c. 0.9m) that was removed c. 1984 when a saddle quern and rubber, and a fragment of a disc quern were found. These are kept at a nearby house.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
