The National Monuments Service's description

Located in a slight col with higher ground c. 350m to the W and c. 550m to the E, and on a slight N-facing slope. This is an overgrown rectangular area (dims. 43m N-S; 40m E-W) defined by earthen banks (Wth 4-6m; int. H 0.6-0.9m) and raised at corners with external flat-bottomed moats (Wth 5.5-6.5m; int. D 1.5m; ext. D 0.5-0.7m). There is an entrance gap and causeway (Wth 5m) on the W side. The burnt mound (WX020-060----) is c. 40m to the S. (Barry 1977, 222, WX 75)
