The National Monuments Service's description
Identified in centre-line testing (E4110) in advance of the M11 Gorey to Enniscorthy road scheme and set aside for resolution as Mountgeorge 3 (Hardy et al. 2010, 52-3). It is situated on level ground at the bottom of a NW-facing slope with a small NE-SW stream c. 80m to the NW. It was excavated (E4192) by M. McNamara when three layers of burnt mound material (dims 2.3m x 0.5-0.9m; T 0.11m: 1.5m x 0.4m; T 0.06m: 3.8m x 0.9m; T 0.12m) overlay a subcircular trough (dims 1.94m x 1.66m; D 0.48m), whose flat base was lined by three large stones. Its four fills contained burnt stone, and a C14 date of cal. BC 2400-2137 was derived from the trough, but no artefacts were recovered. Fulacht fia (WX016-055----) is c. 30m to the SE, and the burnt mounds (WSX016-045----; WX016-053----) are c. 120m to the W and c. 80m to the N respectively. (Hardy and Ruttle 2012; McNamara 2013)
