The National Monuments Service's description
Situated towards the bottom of the N-facing slope of an ENE-WSW ridge. This is a flat-topped subrectangular earthen mound (dims. of top 17m E-W; 13m N-S; H 4-6m) defined by a flat-bottomed fosse (Wth of top 4-7m; D 1-2m). There is a causeway (Wth 4m) at E which is probably modern. The church site (WX16-015001-) is c. 200m to the E, but the holy well (WX016-014002-) is just outside the SE angle. It is growing some mature trees, and has been listed as a moated site (Barry 1977, 215).
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
