The National Monuments Service's description

Located on a slight rise on the flood-plain of the NE-SW River Bann with the stream c. 50m to the SE. Archaeological monitoring (98E0132) of a NW-SE sewer-pipe trench recorded two ditches or fosses in the section placed c. 40m apart. The NW ditch (Wth of top 1.7m; D 0.8m) was filled with a uniform layer of silty brown clay with some gravel, but the SE fosse (Wth of top 5m; D 1.8m) contained charcoal lenses. A charcoal sample from the old ground surface produced a C14 date of 1220 +- 50 BP (c. 830 AD). (Ryan and Henry 2000, 301; Ryan 2000, 11)
