The National Monuments Service's description

Identified in centre-line testing (E4110) in advance of the M11 Gorey to Enniscorthy road scheme and set aside for resolution as Frankfort 7 (Hardy et al. 2010, 37). It is situated on a level landscape and was completely excavated (E4160) by B. Sutton when five phases of activity and many periods were recorded. A small pit contained some Late Bronze Age pottery, but the principal features were three hearths and some pits dispersed over an area of c. 10m x c. 8m. A pit (dims 1.6m x 1.4m; D 0.4m) produced a C14 date of cal. AD 783-986 from its upper fill but a hearth (dims 1.36m x 1.16m; T 0.09m) with two pairs of adjacent stake and post-holes, perhaps for a spit, produced a C14 date of cal. AD 1048-1220. Two other hearths (dims 0.61m x 0.46m; T 0.08m: 1.24m; X 0.88m; T 0.15m) produced no dating material. The unrelated pits (WX011-065----; WX011-066----) are c. 35m to the NE and c. 80m to the SE respectively. (Hull and Ruttle 2012, 5-7; Sutton 2013)
