The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on the summit of a gravel ridge in a low-lying area with a N-S stream c. 250m to the W. It has been quarried on the NW side. The summit has a rectangular appearance (dims. 26m NE-SW; 20m NW-SE; H 3–5m) with a bank (Wth c. 2m; int. H 2m) at its edge N-E. At the base of the mound is a fosse (Wth c. 1m) and outer bank (Wth 3m; int. H up to 1.6m; ext. H 0.5m) SSW-W but the bank is incorporated into a field bank NE-SE and removed by a NE-SW field bank SE-SSW, while the quarry has removed it elswhere. It may be a motte.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
