The National Monuments Service's description

Situated at the bottom of a NW-facing slope with a NE-SW stream c. 40m to the NW. The site of the parish Church of Kilrush is within a circular of D-shaped graveyard (diam. c. 65-70m) defined by an earthen bank with trees NE-S-NW and a masonry wall at N where there is a road. According to Bishop Ram, the Protestant bishop of Ferns, in 1615 John Lacy was the priest and the church and chancel were in repair (Hore 1900-11, vol. 6, 266). Within the graveyard is the Church of Ireland church of St. Bridget that was reparied shortly before 1837 (Lewis 1837, vol. 2, 206), and was probably built c. 1800. There was a bullaun stone with two basins outside the enclosure at W, but it could not be found in 2012. There is no evidence of an older structure.
