The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a slight E-facing slope c. 350m SW of the original Gorey town (WX007-033----). Archaeological testing (06E0089) of an extensive area produced evidence of archaeological features at three points that were furhter investigated. One proved to be an oval pit (dims 3.68m x 1.4m; D 0.3m) containing silty clays with charcoal and some burnt stone. About 45m to the N was a small pit (diam. 0.68m x 0.49m; T 0.12m) again filled with silty clay in an area that had produced one sherd of prehistoric pottery during testing. About 140m SE of the first pit was a rectangular pit (dims 1.2m N-S; 0.66m E-W; D 0.1m) filled with a charcoal-flecked silty clay. (Bayley 2009)
