The National Monuments Service's description
This site was excavated (E3500) during 2005 as a part of Site 40 of the N11 Gorey to Arklow link. Located on a slight shelf on the lower W-facing slope of Ask Hill. A small oval cut (dims. 0.8m x 0.5m; S 0.18m) just S of the trough of fulacht fia (WX007-074001-) had fills with burnt clay and charcoal as well as metal slag. (Bower 2008)
