The National Monuments Service's description
Marked as a standing stone only on the 1940 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. It is situated just off the SE-facing slope of a col with hills rising over it c. 600m to the SW and c. 600m to the N. It was described in 1940 as an upright stone (dims c. 0.6m x c. 0.55m; H 1.05m) with a square top (dims c. 0.3m x c. 0.3m) (OSFM). It was not visible in 1987 at ground level.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
