The National Monuments Service's description

Located towards the bottom of a N-facing slope. A rectangular, grass-covered area (dims. 67m N-S; 37m E-W) is defined by an earthen bank (Wth 4-7m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 1.5-2m), an outer flat-bottomed moat (Wth of top 4-6m; Wth of base 1.8m to 3m; ext. D 1.4-2.2m), and an outer field bank (Wth 3.2-5m; ext. H 0.6-0.7m) on all sides except the N where there is a scarp (H 1.4m). The outer face of the moat is stone-faced on the S side where there is no outer bank, and the field banks have hedges. There is a modern entrance at the E end of the S side.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.#
