The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on the floor of the W-E Mine River, c. 270m S of the river. This is a granite stone with a trapezoidal cross-section (dims. 0.7m x 0.25-0.5m; H 1.35m) and a pointed top oriented NE-SW.

The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
