The National Monuments Service's description

Situated towards the bottom of an E-facing slope, overlooking a col to the SE. Circular grass and fern-covered area (diam. 35m) defined by earthen bank (Wth c. 5m; int. H 0.4-1m; ext. H 2m) and hedge with an outer bank (Wth 3-4m; int. H 2m; ext. H 1m) and intervening fosse (max. ext. diam. 47m). There are no internal features, and an original entrance is not visible. There are widespread local reports of the discovery c. 1940 of steps leading down into the interior, possibly a souterrain (WX005-008002-).

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
