The National Monuments Service's description

Marked as a small enclosure or mound (diam. c. 15m) at the corner of a field on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on a S-facing slope. It is not known if the settlement of Limerick (WX003-052----) was fortified, but this feature, which is not visible at ground level, might have been a tower on the perimeter of the defences. Limerick church (WX003-026001-) is c. 100m to the ENE.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
