The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a slight rise, in pasture, with restricted views of the surrounding countryside.
Depicted on the 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map as an oval-shaped earthwork (approx. dims. 45m N-S; 40m E-W). Shown on the revised 1910 ed. OS 25-inch map as a much modified, roughly elliptical-shaped earthwork defined by a scarp from NE-E-SE and by a field boundary from SE-S-SW-W-NW and open to N.
Monument described in 1973 as the remains of a roughly oval-shaped area (approx. dims. 30m N-S) defined by a low bank with the remains of an external fosse. A very low bank is visible from NW-N which is not obvious elsewhere. There is a shallow external fosse from S-SW-W and from NW-N which is incorporated into a field boundary. A cropmark is traceable from NE-E-SE where an area of dark green differential growth marks the line of the infilled fosse. Monument is visible as the arc of a possible tree-lined bank (approx. C 30m) which may delineated the perimeter from W-NW-N and the cropmark of a fosse from N-E-ESE, on Digital Globe aerial photography.
