The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture on SW facing slope. Depicted as a circular grove of trees on 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map and not as an antiquity. Remains consist of a slightly raised oval-shaped area (dims. 38m SE-NW; c.30m NE-SW) defined by a low earthen bank (int. H 0.1m; ext. H 1.2m) reduced to a scarp (H. 1.1m) in places with external fosse (Wth 4.75m; D 0.4-0.5m). No entrance feature visible. Mature beech trees align top of bank and stone facing visible on exterior. This facing may be the result of post-1700 landscaping, as stone facing is similar to that of field boundaries extending from NE and SW of site. External fosse contains some large conglomerate stones which may be the result of field clearance. Interior slopes downwards to SW with prevalent slope and contains occasional mature beech tree. Could be the remains of a ringfort that was reused or landscaped as a tree-ring in the post-1700 period.
