The National Monuments Service's description
Situated at the N edge of a ridge running E-W, with extensive views to W and N and overlooked by higher ground to E and S. Ringfort (WM030-004----) lies c. 55m to SE. Depicted on the revised 1910 ed. OS 25-inch map as an oval-shaped earthwork. Monument described in 1979 as an oval-shaped area (dims. 31m NE-SW; 22m NW-SE) enclosed by an earthen bank. The bank is low and fairly poorly preserved surviving only from NNW-N-NNE and from ENE-E-ESE and from S-SSW-WSW and is otherwise reduced to a scarp. The scarp is fairly low and is best preserved from WSW-W-N, where it is much steeper and higher. Some small stones in the scarp at SW may be the remains of external stone facing. There is no sign of an entrance. There is an old quarry depression just outside the perimeter at N. The interior is rather uneven and rises irregularly from the perimeter on the W, N and E, towards the centre. A house site (WM030-003001-) is located in the S quadrant. Monument is visible today as a roughly oval-shaped tree-lined earthwork on Digital Globe aerial photography.
