The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a slight rise, in gently undulating pasture (meadow). Annotated 'Fort' on the 1837 OS Fair Plan map and depicted as a suboval-shaped tree-lined enclosure. Depicted on the 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map as an hexagonal-shaped tree-lined earthwork and on the revised 1913 ed. OS 25-inch map as a suboval-shaped earthwork which appears to have been quarried across much of the northern portion.
Monument described in 1969 as a roughly D-shaped earthwork defined by the straight side to S and by a bank from W-N-E which is planted with trees. There is no trace of an eternal fosse. The interior is raised c. 3 feet [0.9m] above the external ground level. Monument described in 1971 as no surface remains visible. Viewed from a distance because the site is in the middle of a meadow, nevertheless it appears to have been completely levelled. Levelled monument is not visible today on Digital Globe aerial photography.
