The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a small rise, in gently undulating pasture, with extensive views to N, E and W. Depicted on the revised 1913 ed. OS 25-inch map as a roughly circular-shaped earthwork. Monument described in 1971 as a circular-shaped area (diam. 36m) enclosed by an inner bank, an intervening fosse and an outer bank. The inner bank is steep on the exterior and is almost reduced to a scarp. It is slightly defaced on the exterior in several places and disturbed by badger burrows in places. There is a wide, deep, flat-bottomed intervening fosse. There is a low, broad outer bank which is very slight from NNW-N-NE. A gap (Wth at top 5m; basal Wth 2.6m) in the inner bank and a causeway (Wth at top 1.9m; overall Wth 4.3m) at NNE presumably represents the entrance. A large stone in the ENE quadrant appears to be naturally occurring whilst there is much disturbance by quarrying in the NW quadrant.
See attached profile of monument surveyed and drawn by the ASI.
