The National Monuments Service's description

In 1983 the Archaeological Survey of Ireland recorded that ‘in front to the R.C. Church at Loughanavally is a large bullaun. The bullaun is a rough moss-covered piece of limestone approx. 70cms by 60cms. The circular depression is approx. 40cms in diam. by 20cms deep’ (SMR File 09/09/1983). Today there is no bullaun stone located in the front of the R. C. church at Loughanavally. The current location of this bullaun stone is unknown. According to the National Inventory of Architectural Heritage the bullaun stone was located adjacent to the gates into the grounds of the R.C Church (www.buildingsofireland.ie ).
