The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a slight rise, in gently undulating pasture, with reasonable views of the surrounding landscape. Annotated 'Fort' on the 1837 OS Fair Plan map and depicted as an oval-shaped earthwork. Levelled monument most of which has been quarried away that was described in 1971 as a much disturbed oval-shaped area defined by the remains of a short segment of scarp at S. The rest of this earthwork has been completely removed by quarrying and trenching. Some of the trenches have been refilled with stone. Site is visible today on Digital Globe aerial photographs as an irregular shaped area greatly disturbed by quarrying with no clear evidence of any enclosing features.
