The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a slight rise, in gently undulating pasture and tillage with good views in all directions. Depicted on the revised 1913 ed. OS 25-inch map as an oval-shaped earthwork. Monument described in 1970-2 as a small, subcircular-shaped area (dims. 25.40m NE-SW; 22.50m NW-SE) enclosed by a bank with the remains of an external fosse. The earth and stone bank (Wth at top 0.5m; overall Wth 3.2m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 1.8m) is almost reduced to a scarp and has been removed from W-N and at ENE. There are slight modern depressions at the base of the bank at S. There are very slight traces of a fosse at SSW. The original entrance is not obvious but may have been at N. The interior has a gentle SSE-facing slope and there is a large stone on the surface, just inside the bank at SE. A small piece of rock protrudes from the interior of the bank at SE. A slight scarp is visible running ESE-WNW across the interior from the outcrop and may be the remains of an internal partition. Monument is vaguely visible today as an oval-shaped cropmark on Digital Globe aerial photography.
