The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a low rise, in gently undulating pasture with good views in all directions. A pond lies c. 35m to W. Depicted on the 1913 ed. OS 25-inch map as a suboval-shaped bivallate earthwork. Monument described in 1970 as a roughly circular-shaped area (diam. 35m) enclosed by an earthen bank, intervening fosse, berm and an outer bank. The inner bank is high and steep. The intervening fosse is wide and deep extending from S-W-N-E. A berm-like space is located between the outer edge of the fosse and an outer bank of earth and stone. The outer bank is visible from S-SSE and swings slightly away from the fosse, suggesting that it may be a later feature. There is a gap (Wth at top 7.6m; basal Wth 5.5m) in the bank and a broad causeway (overall Wth 11.7m; Wth at top 6m; H 1m) at SE. A large portion of the bank and part of the interior has been quarried away on the N side of the entrance. The interior has a gentle SE-facing slope. Monument is visible today as a roughly oval-shaped tree-lined earthwork on Digital Globe aerial photography.
