The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a low round-topped hillock, in gently undulating pasture, in a former deer park of Killynan House. Depicted on the 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map as an oval-shaped earthwork (approx. dims. 50m E-W; 38m N-S). Ringfort (WM020-002----) lies c. 40m to E, enclosure (WM020-144----) c. 150m to NW and hut site (WM020-146----) c. 175m to NW.
Monument described in 1972 as a broad oval-shaped area (approx. diam. 28m N-S; 35m E-W) enclosed by a low steep sided earth and stone bank with no visible trace of an external fosse. The bank is reduced to a scarp from SSE-S-W-N and the original entrance is not visible. The interior rises from the perimeter to the centre. A hut site (WM020-001001-) is located on the upper edge of the scarp at NE and this feature is clearly visible on oblique aerial photograph taken on 20/07/1970 (CUCAP BDV085). An old field bank intersects the scarp at SSW and W. Monument is visible today as an oval-shaped earthwork on Digital Globe aerial photography.
