Situated at SE end of a small ridge, in gently undulating pasture with good views in all directions. Only the W half of the monument remains upstanding as depicted on all ed. of the OS 6-inch maps. Depicted on the 1913 ed. OS 25-inch map as a roughly semi-circular shaped earthwork defined by a scarp from S-W-N and transected by a post 1700 field boundary running NW-SE along E side. Monument visible on Digital Globe aerial photography as a roughly semicircular-shaped tree-lined earthwork.
Monument described in 1970 as the remains of a semi-circular shaped area (dims. 28m NW-SE) defined by a low earthen bank representing the W half of a ringfort. The earthen bank (ext. H 1.1m) is visible from SE-W-NW only with no surface traces from NW-N-E-SE. A field boundary running NW-SE traverses the monument. The original entrance is not recognisable and there is no trace of a fosse. The interior rises appreciably from the perimeter in the S and W quadrants to the centre and there are traces of cultivation ridges (long-axis NW-SE). The area outside the monument and part of the scarp at SSE have been defaced by a small quarry.
